R FOR RIVER

A civic engagement campaign towards active community participation in river stewardship

As a pilot project, R for River focuses on Sungai Kelian which flows through the Tanjung Bungah area in the north of Penang island. 

The Campaign comprises of a series of online and onsite activities, such as social media photo-crowdsourcing, engaging community members who do gardening by the river on conversation about riverside space use, and publication of "Living by the River", a story map about people, animals and plants by the river.
